Negative Planning LL with Wellesley

Gnomoria (35/10-12AS) – Surface section

What happened:

Not possible to M/U the no-cross joint, because it was not possible to grip with the casing tong on the pup body. Tried to grip on the pup collar, no success.

What was planned:

Planned to run:
– 13 3/8″ Casing
– 13 3/8″ no-cross coupling
– HPH with 13 3/8″ extension joint
Extension joint below the HPH is M/U as follow:
HPH – 8m 20″ ext joint – XO to 13 3/8″ – 4m 13 3/8″ pup – 1m 13 3/8″ saver pup

What was learned:

The planned 13 3/8″ pups assy was 5 m (4 +1 m), but actual length of the assy was 4,67 m.
The swab on the no-cross coupling box is +/- 12,5 “, so longer than a standard coupling. The extra length did not allow for enough space to grab on the pup body with the casing tong.

What actions are required:

Ensure with casing provider that length of the saver pup is exactly 1 m if the no-cross coupling is planned to be used.

What Was Done

Decided to drop the no-cross coupling and swapped it with a standard joint.
